Sustainable Infrastructure through Innovative Engineering
Wallace Montgomery is a Mid-Atlantic transportation engineering firm that delivers sustainable infrastructure to state and local government clients across Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. The practice provides transportation planning and design services including highway and interchange design-build, bridge replacement and inspection, bike and pedestrian facilities, transit, traffic engineering, noise and vibration studies, water and wastewater systems, and municipal engineering. With over 25 years of experience in alternative project delivery methods including Design-Build, Progressive Design-Build, Construction Management At-Risk, and Public-Private Partnerships, the team supports owners and contractors from bridging documents and procurement through final design, construction management, and inspection.
Wallace Montgomery has worked on alternative methods to deliver transportation projects for over 25 years, serving both owners and contractors across Design-Build, Progressive Design-Build, Construction Management At-Risk, and Public-Private Partnership delivery models. As an owner's agent, the team develops bridging documents, requests for proposals, performance specifications, and conceptual layouts, and supports evaluation of design-builder technical and price proposals. As a contractor's agent, the team delivers full final design, survey and engineering services, environmental compliance management, independent quality management, and construction quality control management.
Wallace Montgomery designs new, replacement, and rehabilitated bridges and other highway structures, incorporating construction experience to develop practical and cost-effective solutions. Accelerated Bridge Construction techniques and out-of-the-box design approaches are used to achieve excellence while controlling cost and schedule. The team also performs routine and emergency hands-on condition and visual inspections of bridges, retaining and noise walls, tunnel structures, and ancillary structures, and is NBIS and NCTI certified.
Wallace Montgomery designs bicycle and pedestrian facilities as stand-alone projects supporting sustainability and livable communities, and as components of larger transportation corridor and network improvements. Design professionals work with clients to achieve ADA compliance, conduct studies for intersection upgrades and corridor improvements, identify deficiencies, and develop multimodal solutions including pedestrian signal design and wayfinding.
