Mt. Vernon Downtown Flood Protection

2014 | Mount Vernon, WA | City of Mount Vernon | Stormwater & Flood Control

Prepared civil and structural plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E) for a 1.7-mile-long floodwall system. The project features parking lots, Low Impact Development (LID) stormwater systems, roadway and pedestrian improvements, and coordinated utility tie-ins.

Elma High School Emergency Structural Repairs

Provided structural analysis, design drawings, and recovery plans for emergency repairs after a vehicle collided with the high school's northwest corner. Set up safety and exclusion zones immediately on the day of the incident and coordinated with school officials and insurers to complete work on a highly restricted timeline.

Simpson Timber Co. Mill 3 Explosion Response

Dispatched emergency engineering services within hours of an electrical explosion at Mill 3 in Shelton. Directed temporary safety controls and shoring, enabling the mill to resume operations within eight days, and subsequently executed a full structural retrofit and renovation over the following years.

Cougar Smith Road Realignment and Bridge Replacement

2005 | Matlock, WA | Cowlitz County / Local Agency | Bridges

Delivered bridge design and roadway alignment services for 2,500 feet of new roadway and a 210-foot single-span bridge over the Middle Satsop River. Scope included hydraulic analysis, biological assessment, wetland mitigation, and the implementation of a post-tensioning system for prestressed concrete super girders.

Sylvan Way Meadows Residential Development

Performed comprehensive roadway, storm, utility, and structural designs for a new residential development in Bremerton. The project represents one of the first residential developments in Washington State constructed utilizing full Low Impact Development (LID) methods.

Benton has more than thirty years of experience in civil engineering and construction with a major emphasis on transportation structures, primarily with WSDOT and county bridges. His history on the contractor side of contract documents brings deep insight to preparing effective engineering specifications and evaluating construction alternatives.

Ryan Moore

Project Manager

PE

Ryan possesses a background in plant construction, maintenance, and project management. He works extensively with small service districts on structural facility inspections, capital improvement funding, and project management from concept to completion.

Kyle Freeman

Civil & Environmental Engineer

PE

Kyle brings fifteen years of civil engineering and hands-on road, industrial, and commercial construction experience. His capabilities cover hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, utility design, commercial site development, and coastal construction.

Collin McMaster

Civil Engineer / CAD Specialist

PE

Collin manages CAD standards and office IT infrastructure while designing residential remodels, multifamily structures, and site developments. He has directed complex trail layouts, load ratings, and inspections for more than forty Washington DNR bridges.
