Otisco Engineering Ltd. is a Westerville, Ohio-based owner-operated mechanical and environmental engineering consultancy founded in 2009 by Gregory J. Nortz, P.E., MBA. It spans a wide range of disciplines including HVAC design, geothermal system engineering, stormwater management, stream and wetland restoration, wastewater treatment, and underground utilities. Nortz is the inventor of the Otisco Ground-Loop System, a patented minimally invasive geothermal installation technology and recipient of a USDA Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant. He holds PE licensure in eight states and has worked on projects ranging from commercial buildings to NASA's International Space Station.

NASA Glenn Bioswale

Design and construction management of a stormwater bioswale at NASA Glenn Research Center redirecting parking lot and roadway runoff through a vegetated filter channel. Incorporated native Ohio plant species, a bioretention cell, riprap forebay, underdrain piping, and hardwood mulch finish.

Residential Geothermal System

Complete design-build of a residential geothermal heating and cooling system using the Otisco Ground-Loop System. Used horizontal directional drilling to install ground loops with minimal surface disturbance, no open trenching required. Handled system sizing, CAD manifold design, field layout, HDD coordination, and commissioning.

Heritage Classical Academy WWTP

Full engineering design and permitting for a 10,000 GPD wastewater treatment plant upgrade. New design included aerated sludge holding tank, surface sand filter with force main distribution, post-aeration disinfection, and upgraded sand filter dosing tank. Ohio EPA sewerage approval obtained.
