Overview

Moshman Research LLC provides modeling and simulation, optimization, machine learning, and control systems engineering to clients across aerospace, defense, energy, and healthcare. Past performance includes government subcontracts with ARPA-E, Space Force, and the Navy, alongside direct work with industry partners. With over 60 years of collective team experience, it applies advanced computational methods - including ANSYS CFD and custom in-house software - to solve high-complexity engineering problems.

CFD, Fluid-Structure Interaction, and Multi-Physics analysis - using ANSYS CFD Enterprise tool suite with Fluent and custom in-house tools - applied to aerospace components, industrial flow systems, and energy devices.

Adjoint-based gradient-descent and smart parameterization techniques that move beyond parameter sweeps to find better designs directly, with applications in aerospace shape optimization, hydrokinetic turbines, and complex flow systems.

Controlling Swarms of Satellites

In collaboration with Professor Venanzio Cichella at the University of Iowa, Moshman Research developed a control framework for autonomously guiding swarms of satellites for future NASA missions.
