Overview

MEP Commissioning Inc. is a specialized commissioning practice where commissioning represents 100% of its business. Based in Colorado, the practice serves clients with professional staff who have completed over 125 commissioning projects, ranging from small tenant improvements and existing building commissioning to large, multi-million dollar construction projects. It employs licensed Professional Engineers registered in Colorado and Hawaii, ACG AABC Certified Commissioning Authorities (CxA), BCCB Certified Commissioning Professionals (CCP), ACG AABC Certified Commissioning Technicians (CxT), a Level II Certified Thermographer, and a LEED Green Associate. Its processes are based on standards from ASHRAE, PECI, AABC, BCA, and NFPA, fully meeting USGBC LEED Energy and Atmosphere prerequisites and credits.

Services

Building Commissioning

Focuses on building and MEP systems integration using established guidelines from ASHRAE, PECI, AABC, and NFPA. This process aligns with USGBC LEED Energy and Atmosphere requirements to ensure mechanical, electrical, and plumbing assemblies function at optimal performance.

Life Safety Systems Commissioning

Provides testing and verification for critical emergency and protection equipment. This includes active smoke management, early-detection alarm systems, and integrated notification networks to ensure occupant safety during an emergency.

Specialty System Commissioning

Delivers comprehensive testing for sensitive and specialized facility installations. The process targets complex airflow, laboratory environments, gas distribution, and communications hardware to guarantee safe and reliable operation.

LEED Commissioning

Supports green building certification across diverse project types to satisfy environmental rating system requirements. The practice assists with design reviews and functional testing to meet prerequisites and credit goals.

Commissioning Team Building

Establishes a collaborative, cooperative environment across architects, engineers, and contractors throughout all design, construction, acceptance, and occupancy phases. The practice drafts a comprehensive project plan early in the process that outlines specific roles and responsibilities, avoiding adversarial relationships and helping to secure the overall success of the project.

Concurrent Component Commissioning

Involves active performance testing of systems in tandem with construction activities rather than waiting for project completion. By verifying components as they become available, the practice enables on-site contractors to resolve issues immediately, avoiding remobilization delays and significantly reducing the timeline required for final system performance verification.
