Overview
McKinley Architecture and Engineering is a multi-discipline, full-service architecture and engineering practice headquartered in Wheeling, West Virginia. For over 65 years, McKinley has grown into a leading A&E practice in the region, now operating seven offices across West Virginia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. With more than 600 years of combined staff experience, McKinley has completed over 2,500 buildings representing more than $2 billion in total construction value. All architects, engineers, interior designers, and technicians work in-house, enabling integrated delivery across architecture, engineering, interior design, LEED-certified design, sports architecture, historic preservation, and educational facility planning.

Energy Efficient / LEED Design
LEED-certified design and energy analysis led by LEED Accredited Professionals on staff, in partnership with the USGBC.
Learning Environment & Educational Facility Planning
Pre-design planning and programming for school districts and colleges. Staff include an Association for Learning Environments (A4LE) Accredited Learning Environment Planner (ALEP) and a Recognized Educational Facility Planner (REFP), with members serving on SBA school facilities planning committees.
Sports and Recreation Design
Full-service sports architecture for stadiums, arenas, athletic complexes, gymnasiums, tracks, courts, and public recreation parks. Active in NCAA, K-12, and public recreation markets across 20 states, with over $350 million in sports development and 170+ years of combined staff experience in sports architecture.
Historic Preservation
Rehabilitation and adaptive reuse of historic buildings using NPS Secretary of Interior Standards. Experienced with National Register nominations and Historic Tax Credit projects across the tri-state region, with over 100 completed historic projects.
Construction Contract Administration
Contract administration services throughout the construction phase, ensuring projects are built in accordance with design documents.
