D.N. Bruce Cowper

President

P.Eng.

Bruce Cowper graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of British Columbia in 1982. He worked as a Research and Project Engineer at Canadian Marine Drilling Limited from 1982 to 1984, then as a Project and Research Engineer at Arctec, now part of British Marine Technology Group, from 1984 to 1997. In 1997 he founded LamaLo Technology Inc. to provide engineering solutions for shafting alignment, vibration, and powering, including design review, theoretical analysis, and measurements. He has worked on over 130 different vessels, ranging from 30 m tugs to 290 m Ro-Ro vessels, and participated in over 60 sea trials in environments including the Arctic Ocean, Beaufort Sea, Gulf of Mexico, and South China Sea.

Zac Schramm

Senior Engineer

P.E.

Zac Schramm graduated with a Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2005 and earned his Professional Engineering license in Mechanical Engineering from the State of California in 2009. He worked with General Dynamics NASSCO in San Diego on propulsion, steering, and thruster systems from 2007 to 2014, then joined LamaLo and co-authored several papers with Bruce Cowper. He is a member of SNAME since 2007 and active on the M-16 Propulsion Shafting Technology and Research panel.

Ross Clamp

Principal Engineer

Ross Clamp has over 35 years of experience in the marine and shipbuilding industry, spanning project management, trade management, planning, mechanical systems engineering, and new construction and repair trades management. He began his career in the US Navy and went on to develop installation and repair strategies for marine propulsion and auxiliary systems at multiple North American shipyards. He has worked with investigative teams to determine root cause and resolution for failures of propulsion shafting systems and components.
