Willis Avenue Bridge Replacement

Geotechnical leadership and construction support services for a complex staged replacement of the Willis Avenue Bridge, keeping active traffic lanes open. Work encompassed design and testing for drilled shafts up to five feet in diameter, small-diameter bored-in-piles, abutments, bulkheads, permanent and temporary soldier pile and lagging walls, sheet pile walls, tiebacks, MSE and GRES walls, soil and rock anchors, microtunneling, and T-walls. Performed extensive analyses including settlement, lateral load, pier deformation, and embankment shear/stability for staged construction, along with pile driving analysis (PDA) and crosshole sonic testing.
