John Franks has 40 years of experience designing, manufacturing, and applying large power converters, switchboards, generators, and battery energy storage systems. He received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Mercer University. Before establishing his consulting career, he worked as an engineering manager at Alstom, Letourneau, and Ansaldo Ross Hill, and subsequently co-founded and served as COO of Current Power, an engineering and manufacturing business serving marine, drilling, and mining sectors.
