FlightHouse Engineering developed a scalable, modular demonstration platform to showcase autonomous aircraft design and prototyping capabilities. The program developed the FV-21, a 55-pound maximum gross takeoff weight aircraft demonstrating distributed electric propulsion and multiple VTOL rotor topologies.

Calder Hughes

President

PE

Calder Hughes founded FlightHouse Engineering to bring superior design and engineering to the field of commercial Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). Calder thrives on challenging design problems and finding creative solutions that can be practically implemented. Past experiences include engineering roles at Insitu, Zee.Aero, and Zipline, as well as development of several other platforms. Calder holds undergraduate degrees from Whitman College and Columbia University, and a Masters in Mechanical Engineering and Product Design Methodology from Stanford University.
