John founded Darden Engineering Services in 1998. He graduated from North Carolina State University with a bachelor's degree in Engineering. Prior to founding the practice, he worked as a general contractor and served as President of the Iredell County Home Builders Association.

John joined the practice full-time in 2008 and earned his professional engineering licensure focusing on structural engineering in 2011. He holds a bachelor's degree in Engineering from North Carolina State University and specializes in commercial foundation design, framing plans, and existing structure assessments.

Candice joined the practice in 2007, advancing to Office Manager in 2010. She manages overall office coordination and business operations, holding a degree in Business Administration alongside certifications in Human Resources and Business Management.

Tony has been with the practice since 2004, specializing in water-based structures like marinas, docks, and piers. He holds degrees in Manufacturing Engineering and Technical Drafting, and has designed over 1,500 docks across regional lakes.

Mitchell conducts field inspections, including FHA/HUD compliance, manufactured home foundation checks, and framing inspections. He brings a background in automotive technologies and structural modification.
Staff Engineer
Jeremy has a diverse background in metal fabrication, welding, and dock design. He studied engineering software at Mitchell Community College and focuses on field problem-solving.

Melissa joined the family business in 2017, overseeing daily operations, human resources, financials, and communications. She holds a BA in Literature from the University of Texas at Dallas and an MA in Liberal Studies from Georgetown.

Ashtyn produces structural plans, 3D renderings, and assists with permitting services. She holds an associate degree in Architectural Technology and is pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering.

Kevin has been with the practice since 2004, working across all phases of civil engineering design and mastering AutoCAD.
