BS in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering (University of Michigan); MS in Mechanical Engineering (San Diego State University); MBA (Rice University)
Roy Cottrell founded Cottrell & Cottrell after accumulating more than 40 years in the marine and oil and gas industries. He has held senior engineering and project management positions across shipbuilding, mono-hull design, single point mooring, and offshore floating platforms, from hull to systems and hardware. Roy holds a BS in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the University of Michigan, an MS in Mechanical Engineering from San Diego State University, and an MBA from Rice University.
Mr. Cottrell was instrumental in helping my client obtain a favorable settlement. He was thorough in his inspections of the subject boat. He has solid support for all of his opinions. Other experts I hired complimented his work. I could not have obtained the settlement I did without his help.
Roy is an independent engineer but has experience from the smallest of boatyards to the largest of offshore operators/EPCs. He has a wide range of experience from large, forward thinking ships to small vessels that need practical and elegant design work.
I would like to sincerely thank you for the tremendous work that you have done on these procedures. Fantastic work! Your attention to detail and dedication to these scopes is greatly appreciated.
