Ancalle Engineers (originally CA Engineering) is a family-owned professional services practice founded in 1992 in Puerto Rico, specializing in water/wastewater and water resources engineering. It designs and manages infrastructure for water treatment and distribution, wastewater collection and treatment, and stormwater management. University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez - Flood Mitigation

Mayagüez, Puerto Rico | University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez | Education

Mitigation of the frequent flooding of the UPRM Campus due to low hydraulic capacity of the channelized Quebrada de Oro. Design of two large detention areas upstream of the flooding area to reduce the peak discharge in the channel. This project also includes hydraulic modeling of the stormwater system using EPA SWMM and recommending modifications to improve the system to avoid frequent flooding.

Casiano Ancalle has over 45 years of experience, having managed more than a thousand projects in the U.S. and abroad. He is considered one of the foremost hydrologists in Puerto Rico and Bolivia, with deep expertise in hydrology, hydraulics, water/wastewater, groundwater, erosion/scour, and water quality.

David S. Ancalle

Vice-President & Project Manager

David Ancalle has 11 years of experience in water resources engineering, working in both the public and private sectors in several states. He serves as an expert witness in stream disturbance and flooding cases and manages projects and business development in Georgia and surrounding states.

Jesús Acevedo

Senior Engineer

Jesús Acevedo joined Ancalle Engineers in 1998 and prepares construction plans for flood control, water, and wastewater infrastructure in the Puerto Rico office. He holds a Master's degree in Environmental Management and has more than 35 years of experience in water resources engineering.

Zoraima Dávila

Senior Engineer

Zoraima Dávila joined Ancalle Engineers in 2005. She is an expert hydraulic modeler, overseeing the development of hydrologic and hydraulic studies with more than 20 years of experience in water resources engineering.

Luz Torres joined Ancalle Engineers in 2005. She has more than 20 years of experience in water resources engineering, including hydrologic and hydraulic studies, drainage systems, erosion control, groundwater, river bank protection, and detention pond design.

Eric Smith joined Ancalle Engineers in 2020. He has an extensive background in hydrologic and hydraulic studies, 2D floodplain modeling, and large-scale storm and sanitary sewer modeling.

Tania Lopez joined Ancalle Engineers in 2023. She develops GIS maps and tools for hydrologic and hydraulic studies, completing projects ranging from small commercial sites to large citywide studies.

Pablo Ancalle joined Ancalle Engineers in 2024 after working for the U.S. Naval Research Lab at the Stennis Space Center. He designs electrical and instrumentation and control components for pump stations and treatment plants.
