Donald L. Broyles

Senior Structural Engineer and President

P.E.

Mr. Broyles graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University with his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Civil Engineering. He has over 35 years of structural consulting experience. Throughout his career, he has provided many structural designs covering a vast number of fields including federal, commercial, educational, and historical. He is experienced with the current code requirements including Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), 2015 Virginia Construction Code, International Building Codes (IBC), American Society of Civil Engineer Codes (ASCE 7), and Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection. In addition, he is registered in 44 states across the country.

Robert S. Whitaker

Senior Structural Engineer and WV Branch Manager

P.E., S.E.

Mr. Whitaker graduated from Penn State University in 2006 with his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Architectural Engineering. He has experience in the design and construction administration for various types of structural engineering projects. Some of his projects included the rehabilitation and renovations to the Cavalier Hotel at the Virginia Beach oceanfront, building evaluation of historic buildings, seismic and wind evaluations and upgrades, multi-story buildings, building additions, parking garages, mixed use office buildings, federal projects, grade school and higher education facilities on many different campuses. He is proficient in the design of structures constructed of cold-formed metal framing, concrete, masonry, steel, and wood materials and is well versed with the current code requirements. He became the WV Branch Manager in the summer of 2020.

Joe Beauchamp

Senior Structural Engineer

P.E., S.E.

Mr. Beauchamp is a local to the Hampton Roads area and attended Old Dominion University where he earned his Bachelors in Civil Engineering. He has experience solving unique and complex problems while meeting the vision of the client. A few of the first major projects he worked on were at his alma mater, including the New Chemistry Building and the new SB Ballard Stadium reconstruction. Other project sector experience includes hospitality, multifamily, federal, medical office buildings, and retail.

Will Harkins

Revit / BIM Manager

PMP

Mr. Harkins has over 20 years of experience in the field of Computer Aided Drafting. In conjunction to his experience in AutoCAD, he has experience in Revit since 2008 and is responsible for managing the Revit operations at Broyles and Associates. He is an Autodesk Certified Professional in Revit Structure 2015. He has worked on commercial, industrial, residential, educational, federal, medical and civil projects. His responsibilities include setup, review, and coordination of both CAD and Revit project drawings. In 2020, he obtained his Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Chris Gainer

CAD Manager

Mr. Gainer has over 25 years of experience in the field of Computer Aided Drafting and is responsible for managing the AutoCAD operations at Broyles and Associates. In addition to his AutoCAD work, he has experience in Revit since 2007. He has worked on commercial, industrial, residential, educational, and federal projects. His responsibilities include setup, review, and coordination of both CAD and Revit project drawings.

Josh Yost

Structural Engineer

E.I.T.

Mr. Yost is an Old Dominion University graduate with a Bachelors in Civil Engineering and a Minor in Engineering Management. He has experience with AutoCAD, Tekla, Tedds, and Inventor. While attending ODU, he participated in ASCE Concrete canoe and AISC Steel bridge design teams. He has experience with evaluation and renovations of existing buildings and other site survey projects. He is familiar with many different methods of construction.

Mohammad Stanikzai

Structural Engineer

Ph.D.

Mr. Stanikzai holds a Ph.D. in structural engineering from Old Dominion University. He has published several journal papers on seismic vibration control of buildings using hybrid base-isolation and tuned mass dampers. He has experience in design and construction administration of various types of structural engineering projects.
