BIOFerm Energy is a Madison, WI-based provider of turnkey biogas upgrading and anaerobic digestion systems for agricultural operations, landfills, municipalities, wastewater treatment plants, distilleries, and ethanol plants across the US and Canada. Founded in 2007, it handles every aspect from project conception through commissioning and operation. Systems include continuously-stirred tank reactor (CSTR) digesters, dry fermentation systems, pressure swing adsorption (PSA) gas upgrading plants, and proprietary activated carbon products for H2S, VOC, and siloxane removal. Exclusive North American supplier for German-sourced powdered, granulated, and extruded activated carbons for the biogas industry.

Anaerobic digester system installed in 2013 processing approximately 350 tons of manure per day from 8,500-cow dairy using two CSTR digester tanks. Built as a partnership between the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and Rosendale Dairy.

Edmonton Organic Waste Dry Fermentation System

Dry fermentation system constructed for the City of Edmonton in partnership with the University of Alberta to convert organic waste into energy. Supported the city's goal of diverting 90% of residential waste from landfills and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Integrated into Edmonton's existing composting facility to maximize the value of both the digestate and biogas produced from organic material.

1-Stage Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) gas upgrading plant installed for Seaboard Energy to generate renewable natural gas for pipeline injection from pork processing waste biogas. Seaboard Energy had previously fueled boilers with gas generated from anaerobic digestion of pork processing waste and identified gas upgrading and grid injection as the higher-value alternative.
