Process Design and Improvement for Biorefinery Systems
Bio-Process Group (BPG) is a process engineering and contract research practice founded in 1984 at Purdue University, focused on developing profitable process technologies for industrial biorefinery systems. Operating through two specialized branches-Bio-Process Innovation (focused on applied biotech research and development) and Applied Bio-Process (focused on process design and engineering packages)-it provides contract research, feasibility studies, techno-economic process modeling, construction and commissioning support, owner's engineering, and permitting assistance. BPG assists clients in converting biomass, whey, waste paper, and other organic waste streams into high-value fuels, chemicals, and co-products.
Laboratory and pilot-scale contract research to develop, optimize, and validate bio-based processes.
Staged process engineering and design packages to translate biochemical concepts into integrated biorefining facilities.
Technical and economic assessments to define project scope, scale, risks, and options.
Technical consulting and engineering representation during facility construction, startup, and ongoing operations.
