Overview

Big Rocks Engineering is a Missouri-based engineering and contract manufacturing partner for original equipment manufacturers. Guided by the Franklin Covey Big Rocks philosophy, it concentrates resources on what drives production results. With 50-plus years of combined industry experience and capabilities across five specialized sister facilities, it delivers both design engineering and precision manufacturing under one integrated network. Engineering capabilities cover new product development - from QFD studies and product requirements documents through proof of concept and prototyping - as well as reverse engineering and full CAD and technical package creation. Manufacturing capabilities span 4-axis and 3+2-axis CNC milling, multi-spindle turning with live tooling, Wire EDM, laser cutting, 5-axis water jet cutting, press brake forming, MIG and TIG welding, 350-ton progressive and deep draw stamping, and batch and automated powder coating. Big Rocks Engineering serves OEMs in aerospace, industrial equipment, heavy trucking, and flow control devices, helping them scale production, recover lost technical documentation, and shorten lead times through U.S.-based manufacturing.

Power Electronics for EV Battery Testing Equipment

Automotive

Supported a manufacturer of power electronics for EV battery lifecycle testing in launching its first new product in 20 years. Conducted a Quality Function Deployment study and focus group analysis, developed a product requirements document, and led proof of concept, design, and prototyping phases before handing off to final production.
