Jim Baker

Founder & President

Jim Baker is a veteran mariner with a career spanning several decades. Starting as an offshore deckhand, he rose through the ranks and spent approximately 15 years sailing on offshore vessels before serving as Marine Manager for a commercial diving firm. He founded BMS in 2008 and is actively involved in professional and industry organizations such as OMSA, SNAME, MTS, and SOMWS.

Todd Laborde

Chief Operations Officer

Todd Laborde oversees day-to-day operations at BMS. His professional seafaring experience spans various vessel types, including crude oil tankers, refined product tankers, container ships, crew transport vessels, and dynamically positioned support vessels.

Sean Hogue

Executive Vice President

Unlimited Master Mariner; Certified Marine Warranty Surveyor (SOMWS)

Sean Hogue joined BMS in 2020 and plays a pivotal role in operational execution and business development. His sailing experience lies primarily in the upstream energy sector operating Dynamic Positioning vessels, and he has executed major projects such as the Shell Appomattox and the Block Island Wind Farm.

Arthur Davis

Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, University of New Orleans

Arthur "AJ" Davis is a maritime professional who has held key engineering roles at ABS and Gulf Island Shipyard prior to joining BMS.

Michael MacMillan

Vice President Subsea

Mike MacMillan has spent 20 years in the ROV industry. Beginning as an offshore technician in the Gulf of Mexico, he transitioned to international operations and held positions as Operations Coordinator, Operations Manager, and Project Manager. He began his professional career in intellectual property at the University of Southern Mississippi.

Adam Sokol

Vice President Marine Assurance

BS Marine Transportation, Texas Maritime Academy

Adam Sokol started his career as a Mate on ROV and supply vessels in the Gulf of Mexico, rising to Chief Mate and Master on drill ships. He worked ashore in mining and manufacturing sectors for oil and gas products before returning to marine assurance.

Blake Fussell

Vice President Drilling

Blake Fussell has extensive project management and technical experience in the deep waters of the Gulf of Mexico. He was involved in the early development and deployment of Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) equipment packages and services, progressing from field specialist to MPD Superintendent.

Nicole Powell

Corporate Affairs Manager

Nicole Powell joined BMS with an extensive background in managing finance and operations for service companies. Promoted to Corporate Affairs Manager in 2024, she oversees all accounting and administrative functions and acts as the primary corporate liaison for accounting and contractual issues.
