Dennis Sullivan has been a licensed fire protection engineer for over 23 years. He served as a professional and volunteer firefighter in upstate New York during the 1970s before attending the University of Maryland, where he earned a B.S. in Fire Protection Engineering in 1980. His career has focused on developing fire-safe environments through applied fire protection engineering, including building and fire code analysis, design review on commercial construction projects, equivalency development, and performance-based design. Sullivan is a registered professional engineer in Maryland, Missouri, and the District of Columbia.
Michael Pleszkoch Jr.
Co-Owner and Chief Operating Officer
Michael Pleszkoch Jr. is a co-owner and Chief Operating Officer of Applied Fire Protection Engineering with over 30 years in the fire protection field. He attended the University of Nevada Las Vegas (Biomedical Engineering) and the University of Maryland (Fire Protection Engineering), and began his career as a fire alarm and automatic sprinkler technician before advancing to lead installation, construction, design, and consulting responsibilities. His expertise spans fire alarm, emergency power, complex water-based fire protection systems, pumping systems, and special hazards. As COO, Pleszkoch oversees daily operations, technical services, accounting, and IT.
